Join the Preservation League
There are several ways to help the Preservation League of Staten Island.
1. Join the Preservation League of Staten Island.
Join other members in our attempt to protect the irreplaceable historic treasures on Staten Island, as well as supporting PLSI’s events that increase awareness of the importance of preserving our cultural heritage.
An individual membership in the PLSI is only $25.
Members of the Preservation of League of Staten Island receive our bi-annual newsletters, annual financial report, invitations to special events, reduced admission to PLSI events and free admission to our Friday Night Lecture series.
Join PLSI by mail with our printed membership form or
on-line using PayPal or a credit card.
2. Join the PLSI e-mail list.
Keep up to date on current preservation issues, receive e-mail updates of upcoming events and landmark “emergencies.” Send an e-mail to info@preservestatenisland.org.
3. We want to hear from you! No one knows Staten Island better than its residents. Contact us with nominations for new landmarks, information about historic buildings on Staten Island, and your thoughts on the destruction of our historic buildings and overdevelopment on Staten Island. Or send us technical questions about restoration work. Contact us info@preservestatenisland.org.
4. Write letters/e-mails or attend NYC Landmark Preservation Commission hearings. Please check our website frequently for updates – we will post information about buildings proposed for NYC Landmark status or issues that face our local City Council members. More letters and emails to the LPC and our City Councilmen will show them that we do not support the loss of our cultural heritage or the destruction of our historic buildings.
5. Join the Preservation League of Staten Island Board of Directors. The PLSI board meets the first Monday of every month (excluding July and August) at the Unitarian Church, 312 Fillmore Street and Clinton Avenue in New Brighton. Please e-mail us if you are interested in becoming a member.
